With the increase, the ceiling of the monthly amounts of the parliamentary quota can vary from R$ 22 thousand to R$ 46 thousand, depending on the Federation unit
The President of the Federal Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD), increased the value of the Quota for the Exercise of Parliamentary Activity (Ceaps) to 18.13%. The quota is an indemnity fund for parliamentarians. The readjustment was published, this Tuesday (14), in an act of the Board of Directors of the House.
According to the text, the readjustment will be staggered. Senators will have a 6% increase from February 1st of this year; 6% from 2024; and 6.13% from 2025 onwards.
The benefit granted by the Commission comes weeks after the House defines the structure of the new Board of Directors, with Rodrigo Pacheco in the presidency and parliamentarians from six other parties in the composition: MDB, União, PT, PDT, PSB and Podemos.
The amount should be invested in airline tickets, telephony, maintenance of parliamentary offices, food, accommodation, vehicle rental, security, dissemination of parliamentary activity and fuel.
The value of the quota varies between states, due to the different distances between Brasilia and each location in Brazil.
In addition to the readjustment of the indemnity fund, the act of the Steering Committee grants four segments of air tickets, round trip, per month, with the Federal District as destination and the state of representation of the parliamentarian as origin.
