The program aims to create sustainable businesses that add value to society
Manaus (AM) – The state deputy and president of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam), Roberto Cidade (União Brasil), presented Bill No. development and innovation in the region.
“In social entrepreneurship, intelligent solutions to social problems can be found, adding social value combined with innovative practices and knowledge, transforming this into new services. Our intention is to enable the construction of businesses that impact on improvements in society. We are aware that the pandemic has left economic and social ills and this bill arrives with the proposal to help promote solutions that generate financial autonomy for vulnerable people or communities,” he said.
According to the PL, the program aims to create sustainable businesses of value to society without, however, excluding making a profit that focuses on the areas of education, ecological solutions, job creation, clean and renewable energy, financial inclusion and facilitation of access to credit, health, housing, land tenure regularization of low-income people’s properties, social inclusion and professional training and technological innovation for the benefit of communities.
The Incentive and Stimulation Program for Social Entrepreneurship and Businesses with Social Impact should have as principles: the promotion of human dignity, social values, work as an instrument of social inclusion and free enterprise; fostering the creation and development of a social entrepreneurship culture; create, promote and encourage social impact businesses; encouraging the participation of social impact businesses in the internal market; to facilitate the access of enterprises with social impact to development resources made available by the Government.
And also encourage development in social innovation, which result in efficiency and productivity gains, favor public policies that value regional vocations and cultural aspects, and that value the sustainable development of regions, aiming at reducing socioeconomic inequalities.
“The implementation of Social Impact Businesses results in great benefits for the population, as it generates jobs, professional training, access to health care, preservation of the environment, among other opportunities. This initiative is usually born independently of government incentives. However, it is important that there be regulation so that parameters can be established from there and, consequently, better use of what this business segment can make available”, he summarized.
