RJ is the friendliest state for 5G – 05/20/2023 – Panel SA

Rio de Janeiro is the state that has made the most progress in updating the laws that previously made it difficult to install cellular antennas, according to Conexis, an association that represents telephone operators.

The survey shows that 43% of the municipalities in Rio de Janeiro have already updated their legislation, to bring it in line with the General Antenna Law.

In second place is Espírito Santo (30%), followed by Santa Catarina (23%) and São Paulo (13%).

Also according to the association, there are municipalities in São Paulo that have updated their legislation, but still do not meet all the guidelines of federal legislation.

The São Paulo government wants to increase the number of cities with adequate legislation for the implementation and expansion of 5G networks.

To change this scenario, Governor Tarcísio de Freitas announced a plan to increase the number of cities with updated laws.

On June 14, the city of São Paulo receives the Telebrasil Innovation Panel, in which the CEOs of the main operators —Algar, Claro, Oi, Tim and Vivo— discuss with government authorities and other sectors of the economy what opportunities investment and business should reach Brazilian cities with the improvement in the quality of connectivity.

The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes, has already confirmed his presence.
