The Government of Amapá advances in the revitalization works of the Sacaca Museum, in Macapá. The objective is to preserve regional features and, at the same time, ensure improvements in the structure and greater accessibility for visitors to the space, which portrays the way of life of the forest people.
The State Secretariat for Infrastructure (Seinf) is responsible for the work, which is carried out in stages, gradually and does not interfere with visits. The works generate approximately 20 direct jobs for professionals such as carpenters, electricians, painters, foremen and assistants.
Currently, environments such as the ‘Samaúma das Palavras’, the ‘Multimedia Room’, the ‘Castanheiro House’, the ‘Sensory Garden’, the ‘Pedagogy Room’ and the common areas are being revitalized. Almost 200 meters of adaptations have also been made to walkways and guardrails, providing access to specific areas of the tourist attraction and accessibility through ramps.
The return
For the restructuring, hardwood is being used, specifically maçaranduba, as it is resistant to the effects of time and a sustainable option. Furthermore, the redder shade of the product contributes to the aesthetic finishes, ensuring greater durability and protection against pests. “The Government works to preserve cultural heritage and tourist attractions that are part of our history. The works are designed considering several factors, including accessibility to the general public. We want to offer Amapá residents and tourists a place to visit that suits everyone. These actions seek to transform the museum into an even more pleasant and welcoming environment”, details the Secretary of Infrastructure, David Covre.
