Revenue will have a record number of women in superintendencies – 01/30/2023 – Panel

The secretary of the Federal Revenue, Robinson Barreirinhas, appoints this Tuesday (31) five new superintendents in the states.

For the first time, three superintendencies will be headed by women at the same time — before, only two had commanded these structures, and at different times.

In total, there are ten regional superintendencies in the Revenue structure. That is, 30% will be performed by women, more than the 20% that represent the female share in the tax auditor career as a whole.

On Tuesday, Maria Helena Pampolha will be nominated for the 2nd Region, which covers six states in the North, and Maria Cecília Meng for the unit in São Paulo, which is responsible for 50% of the country’s collection. They will join Cláudia Regina Leão do Nascimento Thomaz, head of the 9th Region, which includes Paraná and Santa Catarina.

Barreirinhas chose women for other important positions in his cabinet. Adriana Gomes Rêgo is assistant secretary, Mirian Takada is chief of staff, Cláudia Lúcia Pimentel Martins da Silva is undersecretary at Sutri (Taxation and Litigation) and Andrea Costa Chaves, undersecretary at Sufis (Inspection).

This Tuesday’s Official Gazette will also publish the appointment of Ricardo Antônio Carvalho Barbosa for the 3rd Region (CE, MA and PI), Michel Lopes Teodoro for the 6th Region (MG) and Claudinei Cubeiro dos Santos for the 7th Region (ES and RJ).

In recent days, information has emerged that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) has determined the exchange of superintendencies to remove Bolsonarists from the command of these bodies. To interlocutors, Barreirinhas has said that he has not even met Lula and that the exchanges are technical, for reasons of efficiency.

Meng, for example, has been with the Revenue since 1995 and has already held relevant positions, such as commanding the Special Police Station for Largest Taxpayers. Teodoro, on the other hand, was part of the task force that investigated former waiter Glaidson Acácio dos Santos, known as Pharaoh of Bitcoins.
