Revenue appoints auditor who was vetoed by Bolsonaro to internal affairs – 03/29/2023 – Panel

The government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) appointed this Wednesday (29) the fiscal auditor Guilherme Bibiani as general inspector of the Federal Revenue Service.
Bibiani had been appointed to the post at the end of 2021 by the then Revenue Secretary, José Roberto Tostes Neto, but the appointment was never made.
Tostes was eventually fired from his position, and auditor João José Tafner, a friend of the Bolsonaro family, was appointed to the internal affairs department.
At the time, the exchange was seen as an attempt to protect Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) from investigations into his involvement with the practice of “cracks” when he was a state deputy in Rio de Janeiro.
