A feature by the director of ‘Bacurau’ and ‘Aquarius’ was screened at the Cannes Film Festival and will open the 51st Gramado Film Festival. Watch the second trailer for the movie “Retratos Fantasmas” “Retratos Fantasmas”, a documentary written and directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho (“Bacurau” and “Aquarius”), had a new trailer released on Monday (10). Watch the video above. In the film, the director reflects on the importance of cinemas in the center of Recife (a region shown as the main character in the film) in shaping people’s lives and that of the filmmaker himself. With the passage of time, the ruins of the great cinemas reveal some truths about life in society. Running at 91 minutes, the documentary is the result of seven years of work and research, filming and editing. It had its world premiere at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival and will open the 51st Gramado Film Festival on August 12th.
