The beginning of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s (PT) third government is better than the same period of Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) term, according to a CNT/MDA survey released this Tuesday (16). For 47% of those interviewed, the PT administration has performed better than the previous administration. On the other hand, 22% believe that Lula’s government is similar to Bolsonaro’s, while 26.7% believe that the PT is doing worse than his predecessor. Another 5% did not know how to evaluate.
In comparison with the government of Michel Temer (MDB), however, the popular perception of the beginning of the Bolsonaro administration is better than that of the Lula government. In 2019, 55% thought that the former president’s government was better than that of the emedebist, while only 9% thought it was worse.
Held between the 11th and 14th of May, the CNT/MDA survey interviewed 2,002 people throughout Brazil. The margin of error is 2.2 percentage points, with a 95% confidence interval.
