request hurts privacy of Bolsonaro followers; listen to podcast

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) submitted a request for all social networks where former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) has an account to send a complete list with the identification data of all his followers. The request was made within the scope of the investigations of the acts of January 8 and was sent for analysis by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes.
The magistrate is the rapporteur of the inquiry that determines whether Bolsonaro committed a crime for having posted and then deleted a video with attacks on the electoral system two days after the acts of vandalism in Praça dos Três Poderes. The Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Carlos Frederico Santos, wants digital platforms “to indicate the possible instigation of violent acts against the Democratic State of Law”.
The measure, obviously, generates repercussions from side to side. On Twitter, Senator Sérgio Moro (Podemos-PR), for example, classified the measure as unjustifiable and probably impracticable. He says: this represents “a violation of the privacy of millions of Brazilians. The MP should reconsider the defendant”.
On his YouTube channel, federal deputy Gustavo Gayer (PL-GO) compared the request to actions that preceded the Rwandan genocide in 1994.
For this episode of 15 Minutes Podcast, the guest is the journalist Sílvio Ribas, from the República da Gazeta do Povo team.
