Republicans invite Janaina Paschoal for election in SP – 04/13/2023 – Panel
[ad_1]
The Republicans invited former state deputy Janaina Paschoal (PRTB) to join the party and run for the 2024 municipal election in São Paulo.
The party, which belongs to Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, offered Janaina the chance to seek a seat on the City Council, but does not rule out joining the fight for mayoralty.
The Republicans have not yet been encouraged to support the current mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), who should face competition from Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) and Ricardo Salles (PL). Another name in the race is Tabata Amaral (PSB).
As the Panel showed, Nunes was irritated by the attitude of a delegation from the Republicans, headed by the party’s president, Marcos Pereira, who went to ask for positions in the municipal administration, on March 20. The mayor ironically said at the time that he expected that meeting to be a declaration of support from the party.
Janaina, a teacher and currently a CNN commentator, has said that she still doesn’t know if she will continue in politics. She has claimed that the defeat in the Senate election in 2022 was quite sore, when she obtained just over 447,000 votes. In 2018, she surpassed 2 million votes and was the most voted state deputy in history.
