Manaus (AM) — The “Mujeres Fuertes” project, which supports refugee women, migrants and single mothers in Manaus to start or strengthen their own business in the area of gastronomy, is open for registration, until February 9th, for 50 participants.

The initiative is carried out by the Civil Society Organization (OSC) Hermanitos, which operates in Amazonas and Roraima, developing a series of actions aimed at migrants and refugees.

Registration is free and can be done via the link: abre.ai/iJJE. In total, 50 women will benefit from the project, aimed mainly at single mothers, without a spouse, without a support network who face difficulties in their daily lives in caring for their children.

The selected women participate in a six-month journey with classes on various topics, including business management, financial education, sales techniques and customer outreach.

“This is the sixth edition of the Mujeres Fuertes project, which has already benefited approximately 250 refugee and migrant mothers in Manaus alone. The initiative is also implemented in Boa Vista (RR). They participate in various training sessions and also receive support to start their business in the gastronomy sector. It is a pioneering initiative by Hermanitos, which can only be carried out with resources from labor reversion from the Public Ministry of Labor Amazonas and Roraima (MPT AM/RR)”,

The project also has support from the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the Regional Court of the 11th Region (TRT 11th Region) and the Manas Institute.
