Real Madrid and CBF repudiate new racist act against Vinícius Junior

Real Madrid and the CBF went public this Thursday (26) to repudiate a new racist attack against the Brazilian Vinícius Junior. Atletico Madrid fans hung a doll wearing a Real shirt and the name and number of the striker of the team and the Brazilian team on a bridge in the Spanish capital.

“Real Madrid CF is grateful for the support and expressions of affection received after the regrettable and repugnant act of racism, xenophobia and hatred against our player Vinicius”, recorded Real’s management.

“We express our firmest condemnation of events that violate fundamental rights and people’s dignity, and that have nothing to do with the values ​​that football and sport represent.”

Next to the doll, fans displayed a large banner with the message “Madrid hates Real”, hours before the derby to be played this Thursday, between the two teams, for the King’s Cup.

“These attacks like the ones our player is suffering now, or any sportsman could suffer, cannot take place in a society like ours. Real Madrid believes that all the responsibilities of those who participated in such a despicable act will be expunged.”

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) also came to the defense of the Brazilian player, classifying the act as “intolerable”.

“This type of manifestation, full of hatred, only encourages violence and has no place in our sport. Football must be lived with passion, but always respecting the players, the opponent and the fans. This type of vandalism is unacceptable. nothing helps the progress of a party as beautiful as the Madrid derby can be”, he said.

Also in defense of the player, the CBF released a note of repudiation this Thursday. “The CBF vehemently repudiates the racist acts suffered once again by Vini Jr. Intolerance and discrimination are not part of sport and must be eliminated from society. We hope that those responsible are identified and punished under the law”, stated the entity.
