Ratinho Jr. rebuts Gilmar Mendes for talking about Curitiba – 05/09/2023 – Panel

The governor of Paraná, Ratinho Jr. (PSD), called “unfortunate” the statement made by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court Gilmar Mendes to the Roda Viva program this Monday (8), in which he said that Curitiba spawned former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and has the germ of fascism.
He was referring to the fact that Operation Lava Jato was based in the capital of Paraná.
“Minister Gilmar Mendes will certainly clarify an unfortunate speech, which gratuitously attacks Curitiba and all people from Paraná. and prejudice”, declared the governor.
Gilmar is critical of Lava Jato and its methods, based on award-winning whistleblowers, long pretrial detentions and coercive conduct. According to this reasoning, the operation would have paved the way for Bolsonaro’s election in 2018.
