the senator Randolph Rodrigues was with the president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Maria Rita Serrano, to deal with various issues, one of which is about the opening of two new Caixa branches in the municipalities of Tartarugalzinho and Santana. The idea is to help Bolsa Família beneficiaries who today need to go to the capital Macapá to access the benefit.
According to the Federal Government’s Social Communication Secretariat, Amapá currently has 125,700 families covered by the Bolsa Família program. Macapá is the municipality with the highest number, there are 59,194 families that receive an average benefit amount of R$ 678.61. Another four municipalities in the state add up to more than four thousand beneficiaries: Santana (23,354), Laranjal do Jari (9,519), Mazagão (5,620) and Oiapoque (4,025).
“It is essential to open new spaces to serve the public, especially those who live in the most distant cities and need to pay for transport to the capital to withdraw the money and still pay for the return, absurd for those who already need support. A Caixa in the region of the lakes would already improve the lives of the people a lot, but another one in Santana would also be of great help”, said the senator.
The mayors of Tartarugalzinho and Santana signaled the need and should proceed with the procedures for opening these new agencies. The senator’s meeting with the president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Maria Rita, took place in Brasília, on March 23rd.
