When speaking to a crowd during a PL Mulher event, in Belém (PA), this Saturday (21), former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said that “PT has always been on the side of dictators”. The speech is a reference to the position of the Lula party and government in relation to the Hamas-Israel war.
With the Israeli flag in his hands, Bolsonaro also said that it is unacceptable to have a government that is reluctant to call Hamas a terrorist group.
“The PT has always been on the side of dictators, like Maduro, Ortega. We have to be on the side of good countries, as I have always been, including Israel […] The PT, in 1990, created the São Paulo Forum with the FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) at its side. They have always been on the side of dictators, like Maduro, like Ortega, in Nicaragua, who arrests priests and expels nuns. We know how the Cuban regime works,” said Bolsonaro.
Since the outbreak of the Hamas attacks, Bolsonaro has positioned himself in favor of Israel and condemned the terrorist group. For the former president, it is necessary to be prepared for possible consequences of the spread of the conflict.
“We have to be cautious. We often think that what happens at our neighbor’s house cannot happen at our house. What happens in a distant country will not happen in our country. We have to prepare for everything,” he said.
The former first lady and president of PL Mulher, Michelle Bolsonaro, also held the Israeli flag and said a prayer for the Israelis.
