PSOL sees selectivity in PT party criticism – 05/18/2023 – Panel

Allies of Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) complain about the “selectiveness” of criticism by PT members of the federal deputy and the party for having voted against the federal government’s urgent request for the project that establishes the new fiscal framework on Wednesday (17) .

They claim that these petistas have a “two weights and two measures” posture and do not point the finger at allies of the center-right when they do not support projects of the Lula government (PT) in Congress.

They also point out that in the overthrow of parts of Lula’s decrees that changed the sanitation framework, deputies from the MDB, PSD and União Brasil joined the opposition, unlike PSOL. At the time, they say, there was no commotion.

As an example, they question Washington Quaquá, vice-president of the PT, who now criticizes Boulos and the PSOL, but at that moment did not question Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD), supported by him in Rio de Janeiro.

The vote against the urgency, they say, is largely due to the changes proposed by the rapporteur Cláudio Cajado (PP-BA), such as the inclusion of Fundeb and the nursing floor within the ceiling of the new fiscal framework. According to the PSOListas, the project could hinder the Lula government’s investment capacity and therefore became unacceptable for the party.

The tension comes at a time when Boulos has been courting PT leaders in São Paulo, with his candidacy for São Paulo City Hall in sight. On Monday (15), he met with PT state deputies at the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo and spoke of his intention to incorporate the acronym into the pre-coordination of his campaign.

Last year, President Lula reached an agreement with Boulos that the PT would support him next year if he gave up his candidacy for governor of São Paulo and supported Fernando Haddad (PT), which he did.

Part of the PT claims that the PSOL deputies showed a lack of commitment to the government in which they are based and in which they participate through positions when they voted against the urgency of the new fiscal framework.

They claim that the contrary votes indicate that they will not be able to count on PSOL in possibly more controversial votes, since in an issue that they consider simple, the urgency of a project, they had no help.

“PSOL being PSOL, then Boulos wants PT support for a candidacy for mayor of São Paulo?”, wrote Washington Quaquá.

“Guys, what a night! PSOL being PSOL, they voted against the government, and Guilherme Boulos is a candidate for mayor of SP with PT support? I know. Ô easy life”, added Gleide Andrade, PT’s national secretary of Planning and Finance .
