Paris Saint-Germain have authorized French striker Kylian Mbappé, 24, to negotiate a transfer to Al-Hilal. The Saudi Arabia team offered the Parisian team 300 million euros (R$ 1.5 billion) for the player, said a source close to the case.

PSG received the proposal and said “yes” to a request from Al-Hilal to negotiate a contract with Mbappé, although the striker has never expressed a desire to play in Saudi football.

If the deal is closed, the French athlete will become the most expensive player in football history, surpassing the 263 million euros (R$ 1.3 billion, at current prices) that PSG itself paid to take Neymar from Barcelona six years ago, according to The New York Times.

Several European teams have shown interest in signing the French star since last Friday (21), when he did not embark with the PSG delegation for an Asian tour.

This decision paves the way, as the Parisian club had signaled, for the departure of Mbappé, who has a contract until June 2024 and has already announced that he will not renew it. PSG is trying to sell the athlete to prevent Mbappé from leaving for free next year.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham, Inter Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid are the European clubs interested in the athlete, said the same source.

Several clubs show creativity and offered players and another value for the transfer. This opens up the market for more clubs.

Al-Hilal’s proposal does not involve any player, it is cash only.
