Prouni 2024: registrations begin this Monday (29) – 01/29/2024 – Education

Registration for Prouni (University for All Program) begins this Monday (29), through the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education.

The federal program grants scholarships to low-income students at private higher education institutions. This year, the MEC (Ministry of Education) decided to increase the number of places for undergraduate courses in law and medicine.

In total, 403,711 scholarships will be offered, of which 306,908 are full and 96,803 are partial. The number of scholarships is preliminary and may change until registration begins. They are offered for 15,482 courses at 1,028 higher education institutions.

The registration period for the program runs from January 29th to February 1st, through the Single Portal for Access to Higher Education. The result will be announced in two calls, the first on February 6th and the second on the 27th of the same month.

CRITERIA

The full scholarship will be awarded to Brazilians who do not yet have a higher education diploma. To participate in the selection process, the scholarship candidate must:

• have participated in Enem, in the 2022 or 2023 edition;
• has obtained a score equal to or greater than 450 points on the average of the five Enem tests;
• has scored above zero on the Enem writing test;
• has not participated in the aforementioned exam as a trainee (candidate who has not completed high school and participates in the exam for self-assessment purposes).
• In addition to these criteria, the scholarship candidate must meet at least one of the following conditions:
• be a person with a disability;
• be a teacher in the public education network, exclusively for teaching and pedagogy courses, aimed at training basic education teachers (early childhood education, primary and secondary education), according to Decree No. 5,493/2005;
• have completed high school at a public school; or have studied full secondary education at a private institution as a full scholarship holder from the respective institution, among other study conditions.

FAMILY INCOME

Registration in the Prouni selection process is also conditioned on meeting the student’s income criteria. For the calculation, the gross monthly income of all family members of the student scholarship candidate is considered.

To receive the benefit worth 100% of the private college tuition, you must have a monthly family income of up to 1.5 minimum wages per person. For a partial scholarship of 50% of the program, the monthly income cannot exceed three minimum wages per person in the family. Income requirements were established in Law No. 11,096/2005.

If the student is selected, proof of income must be provided at the time of registration and also when enrolling at the private higher education institution, with payslips, Income Tax declaration or bank statements.

To prove your family income, you must present documentation such as a payslip, income tax return or bank statement.

The candidate teacher in the public education network does not need to submit to the Prouni family income rule.
