Prosecutor Rogério Leão Zagallo asked this Wednesday (11) for the revocation of the preventive detention of the Flamengo supporter arrested on suspicion of having thrown a bottle in the direction of Gabriela Anelli Marchione, 23. The young Palmeiras fan died after being hit in the neck during a riot around Allianz Parque, in the west zone of São Paulo, on Saturday (8).
The suspect, a resident of Rio de Janeiro, was arrested shortly after the fight. He is still detained in a Provisional Detention Center in the capital.
Zagallo indicated contradictions between the version of police chief Cesar Saad, who stated that the prisoner confirmed that he had thrown a bottle, and that of the suspect, who said he had thrown ice cubes at Palmeiras fans.
The father of the arrested man told UOL that they got the wrong person.
In his request, the prosecutor cites an image that shows another fan, who on the day had a beard, caught throwing a bottle towards the Palmeiras fans.
“You can clearly see that the pitcher’s intention was to make the bottle pass through the gap in that gate, which was still wide open, and, following its trajectory, hit whoever was there. It should be noted that this person is seen all the time. time in the video confronting the people of Palmeiras”, says an excerpt from the document.
The prosecutor asked for his temporary arrest as soon as he is identified.
In addition to the freedom of the Flamengo player, prosecutor Zagallo asked that the case be transferred from the Drade (Police Station for the Repression of Sports Intolerance Crimes) to the DHPP (Department of Homicide and Person Protection), which would have more structure for investigation.
Among the criticisms of Saad in the document, one mentions the failure to take a statement from metropolitan civil guards who followed the fact and tried to separate the fight between Palmeiras and Flamengo fans.
