The objective of maintaining strategic partnerships is to increase the scope of actions for refugees and migrants

Manaus (AM) — Since January this year, the Ven, Tú Puedes! project, carried out by Visão Mundial, an organization present in more than 100 countries, has intensified its actions to approach the bodies of the social assistance network in Manaus. The objective of maintaining strategic partnerships is to increase the scope of actions for refugees and migrants and facilitate access to public policies in the different regions of the capital.

To this end, the project team has carried out strategic visits to Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) focusing on areas close to the activities offered to encourage the participation of Venezuelans in project activities. During the month of March, the project opened vacancies in the Portuguese course in the East Zone, which motivated the approach with the CRAS in that location. In addition, actions were carried out with the CRAS of Alvorada and Compensa, with the aim of mobilizing the target audience in these neighborhoods.

According to World Vision project manager, Angela Karinne Mota, getting closer to the social assistance network is extremely important to provide opportunities for assistance to refugees and migrants.

“Working in collaboration with municipal and state social assistance bodies, we were able to join forces to promote the socioeconomic integration of those who seek to overcome their vulnerabilities, relying on initiatives adapted to their individual reality”,

highlights.

In March, eight CRAS and a Specialized Social Assistance Reference Center (CREAS) were visited in the capital of Amazonas.

Assistance in Manaus Mais Cidadã actions

Furthermore, the project has actively participated in the actions of Manaus Mais Cidadã, an initiative by the city of Manaus, which aims to bring basic care services closer to the population. The project “Ven, Tú Puedes!” has provided employability services, such as issuing Digital Work Cards, creating and updating CVs, in addition to registering refugees and migrants in the project. Lectures to raise awareness and combat xenophobia have also been offered during these events.

World Vision’s local coordinator, Arylanne Batista, highlights the importance of participating in citizenship events.

“We have already managed to serve 158 people with our services, with more than 140 people participating in the lectures on xenophobia, the majority of whom are Brazilian, results that bring us closer to our mission of promoting the inclusion of refugees and migrants in our city”,

he stated.
