The largest education group in Brazil and one of the largest in the world, Cogna is accepting applications for the Somos Futuro scholarship program, aimed at students from public schools who are in socioeconomic vulnerability. The project is offered by Instituto Somos, the social arm of Somos Educação, which since 2017 has already benefited 689 young people through the program. Registration is available at the link:
In all, 230 scholarships will be offered in 74 municipalities in 18 states throughout Brazil. The selection process for the Somos Futuro 2024 program is open for applications until September 24, to participate, candidates must be enrolled in the 9th year of elementary school II in a public school in 2023, have a maximum of 15 years old this year , in addition to presenting good academic performance in the last three years and having a gross family income, per person, of a maximum of two minimum wages.
“Our objective is to help in the development of young people who want to be protagonists of their future, transforming their lives through education. With the Somos Futuro program, we take opportunities and contribute to access to quality education”,
says Guilherme Mélega, president of Instituto Somos.
To enter the first phase of the selection process, interested parties must fill out the application form available on the program’s website, respond to the socioeconomic questionnaire, indicate the school of choice and send two videos: one talking about why the candidate deserves to be a scholarship holder and the other another telling about how his family will support him on this journey.
The selection process comprises four eliminatory stages: socioeconomic analysis, online academic evaluation, interview with volunteers from the Institute, interview with students and guardians at the chosen school.
In addition to starting the 2024 academic year at one of the program’s partner schools with 100% tuition waiver, the benefits offered to students approved in the program include didactic and paradidactic material from the Somos Educação portfolio, online tutoring, mentoring offered by volunteers from Instituto Somos, psychological follow-up and support network.
