Manaus (AM) – The RespirAR Program, coordinated by the State Secretariat for Sports and Leisure (Sedel), promoted a series of activities at the Arena da Amazônia, in reference to the Blue November Campaign. The event, which focused on raising awareness about essential care for men’s health, was attended by RespirAR professionals, interns and patients.

“This initiative is part of our governor Wilson Lima’s determination to promote health, through the practice of physical activity, and awareness of always keeping the body and mind healthy”,

Erick Gadelha, RespirAR Program Manager

During the informative lecture on men’s health, the importance of preventive care was mainly emphasized. “This lecture is very important because it guides and helps men to break prejudice. This Blue November campaign is really necessary to reinforce care for men’s health”,

said Antônio Carlos Gomes, 59 years old, a patient at RespirAR in the Vila Olímpica de Manaus.

Aiming to integrate and encourage the continuity of physical activities, to maintain health, after the lecture, 24 patients from the solo pilates class at the Vila Olímpica de Manaus were discharged from physiotherapy and are now moving on to physical activity. On the occasion, a special closing class was also held with pilates and other dynamic activities.

“Pilates is a physiotherapy method used for strengthening, where we work the entire body, as well as breathing, this method has a very positive result and is used for people with different pathologies”,

said Cleomira Carvalho, physiotherapy coordinator at RespirAR, also stating that, in 2024, solo pilates services will be implemented at the Carlos Zamith, Ismael Benigno and Oswaldo Frota stadiums, Sedel’s sports venues.
