Preta Gil reveals details of her ex-husband’s betrayal: ‘I was blind’

The singer revealed details of her ex’s betrayal with her stylist.

During her participation in the program De Frente com Blogueirinha, singer Preta Gil revealed that she was betrayed by her ex-husband, Rodrigo Godoy, for 7 months, including after discovering the diagnosis of bowel cancer, the artist harshly criticized her ex and his lover during the interview.

“As soon as it happens, you wonder ‘my God, what happened, what went wrong?’. When it starts to calm down, you start to remember things, various situations, and this situation… It was seven months that the guy was cheating on me, and I didn’t even suspect, I was blind”, stated Preta.

The singer revealed that she thought her marriage was going through a crisis due to the pressure due to the illness she was facing and that she encouraged her husband to go out with friends.

“I followed the marriage, I’m not going to say it was good, but I thought it was a crisis, that we were going to resolve it, I was taking a lot in that direction, and there was zero suspicion of betrayal. I thought he was going through a moment of crisis, so much so that we disconnected professionally to see if we could stop fighting. I thought it was something more like that and I didn’t notice.”

Preta found herself abandoned by Godoy during the beginning of her cancer treatment, her friends formed a support network to shield the singer during this delicate moment where chemotherapy procedures left her vulnerable.

“He didn’t care. I make a point of saying this because this is the reality of many women in Brazil today. Not nowadays, since forever.” The artist confirmed the divorce and the change in her documents stating that she does not talk to her ex and does not want any type of contact with him.

Preta Gil and Rodrigo Godoy were married for 8 years, at the beginning of the year the singer announced that she was separating from her personal trainer while undergoing cancer treatment.
