The relaunch of the project will take place on July 28 in the work on the Tucuruí line
The Luz para Todos program will be relaunched by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the creator of the program that universalizes electricity throughout the country. The president will be in the municipality of Parintins (372 kilometers from Manaus), on July 28, for the inauguration of the work on the Tucuruí line, which connects the Lower Amazon to the national electricity grid.
The program frozen during the Bolsonaro government returns in 2023 in a new version. At first, president Lula’s trip was scheduled for this week, on Friday (14), but due to changes in the agenda, the Planalto changed the visit to the end of the month.
The government will still make two other announcements, in addition to Luz para Todos and the delivery of the Linhão. One of the projects is the delivery of the internet via infovia and the other in the environmental field, it has not yet been announced.
To the IN TIME, the advisory of the Parintins city hall declared that it had not yet received confirmation of the presence of the president in the municipality. But the event continues with the inauguration of the project that will cover the riverside communities of the municipality.
Tucuruí Line
The Tucuruí Line was tendered by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) in 2011, still under the government of Dilma Rousseff (PT). It took 11 years for the impasses between Transnorte, the federal government and indigenous people to be resolved. The line includes 720 kilometers of towers and cables between Manaus (AM) and Boa Vista (RR), with 122 km passing through the Waimiri Atroari reserve.
Light for All
The Light for All Program was instituted in 2003 to implement universal access to electricity for families residing in the middle and who did not yet have access to this public service. In addition to the immediate amenities provided by access to electricity, it will also be an instrument for the development and social inclusion of this population.
