The Amadeu Teixeira Arena was the stage for the grand final of the Under-11 Amazonense Futsal Championship, this Saturday (21), when the Craques do Futuro team drew 1-1 with Pica Pau, but secured the victory on goal difference in the table. The competition was supported by the Amazonas de Alto Rendimento Foundation (Faar), and as a result the team will represent Amazonas in the 2023 Taça Brasil de Futsal.
“We know that high performance starts at the base and, through these state championships, we are revealing great stars for the future. The result of these competitions only demonstrates that the support given by the Government of Amazonas has been fundamental for our athletes to be able to evolve in the sport”, highlighted the CEO of Faar, Jorge Oliveira.
In an electrifying match, with a score of 1 to 1, the Craques do Futuro team secured the advantage by carrying out the “device” strategy in the game, which would be the exchange of players during the match. With that, the team secured two points above the opposing team Pica Pau, acquiring the advantage in the tie, becoming the Amazonense Sub-11 Champion of 2023.
“I’m very happy to score the winning goal and take my team to the Brazil Cup. Our training sessions were very intense, but the result was worth it, I know that I will soon be a professional soccer player”, commented the center forward of the Craques do Futuro team, Rafael Ferreira, 10 years old.
For the team coach, now the focus is on the national competition. “With this result we qualified for the Brazil Cup. Now it’s time to train hard to represent Amazonas well and bring another title to our state”, commented the team’s coach, Valdecy Lima.
The dispute, which started in December, had the participation of 31 teams disputing the state base championship, in several categories. “It was a great match, Craques do Futuro was crowned champion and guaranteed a place in the 2023 Brazil Cup. With the support of the Government of Amazonas, through Faar, not only for our federation, but for other sports, we will have a base in the sport. much stronger for the coming years”, commented Marcelo Galvão, president of the Amazonense Football Association (FAFs).
