PL on food donation goes to the mayor’s sanction

Without the need for a prior license or authorization from the Municipal Executive, companies will be able to donate surplus food to individuals or legal entities

Manaus (AM) – Authored by councilor Everton Assis (União Brasil), 2nd vice president of the City Council of Manaus (CMM), Bill (PL) No. physical or legal entities, without the need for a prior license or authorization from the Municipal Executive, it was approved in a 2nd discussion and goes on to be sanctioned by the mayor of Manaus, David Almeida.

“We were very happy with the approval of our bill that comes precisely to reduce bureaucracy in the donation of food to individuals and companies by establishments that sell food. Our PL comes precisely to make it easier for this food to be donated without going through the bureaucracy and to avoid wasting food for people who often only have one meal a day”, said the councilor.

Councilman Everton Assis’ PL provides in article 1 that “the establishments responsible for the production, supply, marketing, storage and distribution of foodstuffs, whether industrialized or in natura, are authorized to donate their surplus to individuals or legal, without the need for a prior license or authorization from the Municipal Executive”.

“We hope that the mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, with his humanitarian spirit, sanction our project as soon as possible, because only then will food companies have legal security to make donations of surplus food”, highlighted the councilor.

With the unanimous approval of the councillors, the PL goes on to be sanctioned by the mayor of Manaus, David Almeida.

The bill was signed by councilors Bessa (SD), Caio André (PSC), Glória Carratte (PL), Kennedy Marques (PMN), Peixoto (AGIR), Wallace Oliveira (no party) and William Alemão (Citizenship).
