Pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim is accepting submissions for the first edition of its journalism award.
The award will focus on stories about people living with generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP).
GPP is a chronic inflammatory skin disease, which presents severe and lethal cases. In Brazil, the disease affects 9 out of 1 million inhabitants.
According to the company, the theme was chosen due to the lack of knowledge about the disease in the country and the need to advance its study and treatment.
To compete for the award, the reports must raise awareness about the disease and must have been published in 2023. The texts may have been published in print media or online between January 1st and November 15th.
In the printed and online categories, the winners will receive R$ 10,000. Second and third placed will receive R$7,500 and R$5,000, respectively.
Applications are open until November 16th and can be done using this form.
