The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) sent this Friday (10) a manifestation to the Federal Supreme Court (STF), asking for the return of Ibaneis Rocha to the command of the Federal District government. Ibaneis was removed from office after the acts of vandalism on January 8, by determination of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, which was endorsed by the Court Plenary.

Moraes justified the governor’s removal in view of the commission of crimes such as: preparatory acts of terrorism, criminal association, damage, violent abolition of the Democratic State of Law and coup d’état. The deadline set was 90 days, which expired on April 9.

The PGR manifestation was signed by the deputy attorney general Carlos Frederico Santos, coordinator of the Strategic Group to Combat Antidemocratic Acts, after a request for the revocation of the removal, by the defense of Ibaneis.

At the demonstration, Santos pointed out that Ibaneis will not interfere or obstruct the ongoing investigation. According to the deputy prosecutor, the precautionary measure for removal from public service requires, for enactment, the requirement of fear that the person will use the position for criminal activity, which “is not configured in the case.”

Given the absence of legal requirements for removal from public service, the deputy attorney general does not oppose the revocation of the measure. However, he stresses that the order can be replaced by other precautions.
