The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) signed 13 new non-criminal prosecution agreements (ANPPs) with defendants accused of participating in the acts of January 8. The agreements were sent for approval by the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes. In total, 28 agreements have already been made official.
The 13 defendants agreed to pay fines of R$5,000 and R$20,000, perform 300 hours of community service, participate in a course on Democracy and stop maintaining open social media accounts. Confession to the crime of incitement and criminal association is a condition for closing the agreements.
In total, 1,125 defendants had their criminal proceedings interrupted, so that the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) could analyze the situation of each one and determine whether they meet the requirements for the closure of ANPPs. According to the PGR, in addition to the 28 terms already signed and sent to the STF for approval, 93 drafts were sent to the defenses and another 126 cases are being analyzed by the Secretariat of Expertise, Research and Analysis (Sppea).
