The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) asked the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes to break the federal deputy’s tax and banking secrecy Vinicius Gurgel (PL-AP) in the scope of an inquiry that investigates alleged crimes of passive corruption and money laundering by the parliamentarian.
The petition by the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Lindôra Maria Araújo, was forwarded to Moraes on Wednesday (8), and targets Gurgel’s tax and bank data between 2015 and 2019.
The PL deputy is investigated for alleged participation in a corruption scheme at the National Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DNIT) in Amapá. The investigation is aimed at the alleged targeting of a bidding process for contracting maintenance services on the BR-156, which crosses the state.
The investigation also investigates indications made by the deputy of two DNIT leaders in Amapá, Fábio Vilarinho and Odnaldo de Jesus Oliveira, who were arrested in Operation Toll, in June 2019.
The two are suspected of charging bribes of 3% to 5% in contracts for paving roads with a company, whose owner closed a plea bargain that cites the deputy.
The Supreme Court inquiry was opened to deepen investigations into the parliamentarian.
Gurgel appealed to the STF to suspend the investigation, but his request was denied and he appealed. He alleges that the delation citing him should not have been ratified by the court of first instance, but by the Supreme Court, and therefore its content must be invalidated.
In addition to breaking the PL deputy’s tax and banking secrecy, the PGR asked Alexandre de Moraes to order the Federal Revenue to send information on bank accounts, real estate operations, operations in cash and through cryptoassets and the parliamentary’s shareholdings. , among other data.
