Request was sent to STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes
Brasilia DF) – The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) asked this Monday (17) that social media platforms present all posts made by former President Jair Bolsonaro on elections, electronic ballot boxes and matters involving the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Armed Forces.
The request was made by deputy prosecutor Carlos Frederico Santos and sent to Justice Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
If the sending of data is determined by the minister, the information will support investigations into possible Bolsonaro demonstrations in favor of the coup acts of January 8 and anti-democratic demonstrations before the date.
Bolsonaro was included in the investigation after publishing, on January 10, a video that questioned the legitimacy of the result of the 2022 elections. The post was deleted after the repercussions of the case, but Moraes determined that the platforms preserve the material.
In the request, Santos also wants the complete list with the names and identification data of the former president’s followers on social networks.
The PGR also asked social networks for data on the number of views, likes, shares and comments on Bolsonaro’s posts.
There is no deadline for Alexandre de Moraes to decide on the case.
