PF under Lula barra speaks of Bolsonaro’s superintendents – 03/05/2023 – Power

The command of the Federal Police in the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) promoted changes in the inauguration ceremonies of the new superintendents of the corporation. The institutional anthem of the PF is not being played at the ceremonies, and the superintendents appointed during the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) administration did not speak when transmitting their positions.

The measures generated internal dissatisfaction, mainly by agents with more years of service.

The Federal Police said, in a note, that the normative instruction that regulates the solemnities has been in force since 2008 and needs adjustments.

In this sense, the institution claims to be preparing a new normative instruction with the aim of modernizing the organ’s ceremonies, making them faster, more dynamic and in tune with the new work tools and the current reality.

“Even so, it should be noted that the current instruction provides that the leader may determine the performance of other solemn acts, with the waiver of the formalities he deems necessary”, he said in a note.

In January, the Lula government promoted a major change in command of the Federal Police in the states, replacing 18 regional superintendents.

One of the nominees in the PF is delegate Leandro Almada, who took over the regional superintendence in Rio de Janeiro. He was chosen by the new director general, Andrei Rodrigues.

Almada has been with the PF since 2008, has experience in investigations and in leadership positions and, recently, was responsible for the inquiry into the attempt to obstruct the investigation into the death of councilor Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes.

The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino (PSB), has already said on several occasions that his name is strategic for knowing the Marielle case and that the federal government will collaborate in the investigations.

For São Paulo, the largest superintendence in the country, the delegate chosen was Rogério Giampaolli, who was once head of the COT (Command of Tactical Operations). He was in charge of the PF in Sorocaba (SP).

To lead the superintendence in Paraíba, the delegate Christiane Correa Machado was chosen.

The researcher led part of the Bolsonaro government to Cinq (Coordination of Special Inquiries), responsible for cases involving people with special jurisdiction in the superior courts.

She participated, for example, in the investigation into the accusations made by former minister Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR), now a senator, against Bolsonaro for interfering with the PF.

Delegate Cézar Luiz Busto de Souza was chosen to command the PF in the Federal District, replacing Victor Cesar Carvalho dos Santos. During the Bolsonaro administration, the investigator became the director of Investigation and Combating Organized Crime, the most sensitive sector of the PF.

The change in the nomination rules was published in the Official Gazette of the Union on January 4th.
