PF targets Acre governor in anti-corruption operation and blocks R$120 million in assets – 03/09/2023 – Power

The Federal Police carried out this Thursday morning (9) the 3rd phase of the Ptolemy operation against corruption and money laundering involving public agents from the state of Acre.
Governor Gladson Cameli is one of the targets and had against him an order for the delivery of passports and the seizure of assets issued by the Superior Court of Justice.
In total, at the request of the PF, the seizure of R$ 120 million in assets of the investigated was authorized. In the case of Cameli, the measure targets vehicles, an aircraft and real estate valued at more than R$ 10 million.
Another authorized measure was the removal of 34 public agents and the suspension of the activity of 15 companies.
The action has the support of the Comptroller General of the Union and the Federal Revenue Service (RFB) and fulfills 89 search and seizure warrants in Acre, Piauí, Goiás, Paraná, Amazonas and Rondônia and the Federal District.
According to the PF, the investigations indicate the existence of a “criminal organization, controlled by political agents and businessmen linked to the state executive branch of Acre, who acted in the diversion of public resources, as well as in carrying out acts of concealment of the origin and destination of the amounts subtracted through money laundering.”
In the 1st phase of the operation, in December 2021, the governor was subject to a search and seizure and the STJ ordered the removal of the coordinator of his office, the Secretary of Industry, Science and Technology and two other public servants.
At the time, according to the PF, the investigation was aimed at a corruption scheme integrated by public agents in collusion with businessmen who set up the government structure to divert public money.
In the same month of 2021, the PF carried out the second phase of Ptolomeu and arrested Rosângela Gama, then coordinator of the Acre government office.
The server, according to the investigation, tried to obstruct the ongoing investigation.
