The Federal Police seized money in kind at the house of Mauro Cid, who was Jair Bolsonaro’s (PL) assistant during the search and seizure carried out this Wednesday (3) morning.
According to the investigation, US$ 35 thousand and R$ 16 thousand were found.
The former aide-de-camp was arrested by the Federal Police on suspicion of participating in a scheme to forge vaccination cards.
He was heard by the police, but preferred to remain silent.
This Wednesday, the PF carried out a search and seizure warrant against Bolsonaro and the arrest of some of his closest former advisers.
In addition to Mauro Cid, Luis Marcos dos Reis, former aides, Max Guilherme de Moura and Sergio Cordeiro, Bolsonaro’s security guards, Ailton Moraes Barros, candidate for state deputy for the PL-RJ in 2022, and João Carlos de Sousa Brecha, secretary of the City Hall of Duque de Caxias (RJ), Bolsonarist stronghold in Baixada Fluminense from where the fraud would have been operated
Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro is also the target of the investigation.
According to the Federal Police, the targets of the investigation would have attempted to insert false data into the Ministry of Health system between November 2021 and December 2022.
Mauro Cid was a kind of Bolsonaro’s right-hand man, a relationship that led him to be targeted by the PF.
He was one of those indicted for leaking the calculation used by Bolsonaro in a broadcast on August 4, 2021, in which he contested the security of the electoral system and raised suspicion of fraud in the 2018 elections.
Information obtained from Cid’s breach of telematic secrecy also indicated participation in the live on October 21, 2021 in which Bolsonaro made a false association between vaccination against Covid and the development of AIDS.
Cid is also investigated in the digital militias inquiry for suspicious transactions in favor of Bolsonaro, also discovered by the PF after breaking telematic and bank secrecy.
