PF investigates Bolsonaro government supplier transactions with advisor who made payments to Michelle – 05/14/2023 – Politics

The Federal Police asked for the breaking of banking, tax and telematic secrecy of an assistant to Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to investigate transactions between him and a company with federal government contracts, one of which was funded with parliamentary amendment money.

The requests were authorized by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Federal Supreme Court), between October and December 2022.

The PF’s requests are based on messages from Mauro Cid, Bolsonaro’s right-hand man and head of the Presidency’s Aid for Orders, found from the breach of his telematic secrecy in the investigation reported by Moraes on the leak of the secrecy investigation of the hacker attack on the TSE (Superior Electoral Court).

When analyzing the material, the investigators found evidence of suspicious transactions between Luis Marcos dos Reis, the former president’s assistant, and the company Cedro Libano Comércio de Madeira e Materials de Construção.

Luis dos Reis was one of those arrested on May 3 in the Venire operation, which investigates the fraudulent insertion of data into the Ministry of Health’s vaccination system.

According to the PF, the Transparency Portal shows that, from 2020 to 2022, during the Bolsonaro government, Cedro Líbano received federal funds through contracts with the Federal University of Espírito Santo, Federal Institute of Tocantins and Codevasf (Companhia de Desenvolvimento dos São Francisco and Parnaíba Valleys).

The Federal Police’s analysis of Luís Marcos dos Reis’ accounts shows several transactions between him and the company or persons linked to it. Dos Reis appears receiving and sending amounts to the company and one of its partners from 2019 to 2022.

He also maintained transactions as the father of one of the company’s partners. “The sum of credit transactions to Luís Marcos dos Réus’ account is R$ 101 million. Debit transactions from the investigated account totaled R$ 69 thousand”, says the PF when pointing to a positive balance of R$ 32 thousand for Bolsonaro’s adviser on transactions with the company.

According to the investigators, until the end of last year it had not yet been possible to identify a formal or informal link between the order assistant and the company to justify the identified financial transaction.

“Such transactions become even more incomprehensible if we consider the fact that Luís Marcos Dos Reis is a public servant, sergeant in the Brazilian Army, assigned until July 2022 in the Ajudância de Ordens of the Presidency of the Republic.”

In the same period in which he receives from the company, Bolsonaro’s assistant appears involved in transactions that are investigated by the PF on suspicion of embezzling money from the Presidency through Mauro Cid and at the request of Michelle Bolsonaro.

The advisor, says the PF, transferred values ​​to people indicated by Michelle Bolsonaro’s advisors.
Among them, the aunt of the former first lady, Maria Graces de Moraes Braga, for whom the adviser of 12 deposits in kind.

He also made three deposits to Rosimary Cardoso Cordeiro, responsible for issuing a credit card used by Michelle.

In the request for a breach of confidentiality to advance the investigation into the relationship of Bolsonaro’s advisor, the PF points to the company and Dos Reis’ transactions with other assistants. Mauro Cid and Osmar Crivelatti are cited.

The report tried to get in touch with Rosimary, Luís dos Reis and Maria Graces. Cid’s lawyer, Bernardo Fenelon, stated that “out of respect for the Federal Supreme Court, any and all defensive statements will be made in the case file”. Cedros was contacted by Sheetbut did not return contact.

All these transactions involve the cost of expenses requested by the former first lady and under analysis by investigators in the digital militias inquiry.

In addition to the financial transactions, the PF drew attention to the information collected about the company Cedro Libano, headquartered in Goiânia (GO).

“Also according to the PF, the analysis of the commitment notes revealed a disparity between the object of the activity carried out by the company Cedro Líbano —retail trade of wood and artifacts— and the goods supplied in the contracts signed with the federal government”, says Moraes in his decision that authorized the company’s breach of secrecy.

To the University, the company supplied “a single line forage harvester for forage species” and to the Institute a “planter, hydraulic hitch type”.

In the case of Codevasf, what caught the attention of investigators was the fact that Cedro, headquartered in Goiânia (GO), provided four planters and fertilizer spreaders for a project in Amapá, funded with a parliamentary amendment by the state’s deputies.
