The Federal Police arrested this Tuesday (27) the hacker Walter Delgatti Neto in São Paulo. In 2019 the hacker, known as “Vermelho”, was responsible for releasing messages from authorities in the episode that became known as “leak jet”. Among the authorities who had Telegram hacked were former prosecutor Deltan Dallagnol and former Lava Jato judge Sergio Moro.
According to the investigators, Delgatti failed to comply with precautionary measures determined by the Justice, reported the newspaper O Globo. The PF pointed out that, even if prohibited, he would have used the internet to create an email, linked to a bank account intended to raise donations via Pix.
Furthermore, Delgatti would not have been found by the PF at the two addresses he provided to Justice, in Araraquara and Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo. In 2019, the hacker was arrested as part of Operation Spoofing, but was awaiting trial at the Federal Court of the Federal District.
The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) considered that “it is clear that Walter Delgatti Neto, in addition to not having interrupted his access to the internet, purposely failed to update his address before the Federal Court”. For the MPF, the way in which Delgatti acted “evidently demonstrates the intention to hide from any judicial decision”.
Lawyers Ariovaldo Moreira and Matheus Henrique Moreira, responsible for Delgatti’s defense, told Globo that he “maintained a collaborative posture at the time of the police action, admitted that he accessed the internet out of necessity, because for him it is a work tool”.
