This Wednesday (28) the Federal Police arrested Walter Delgatti Neto, who became known as the “Vaza Jato hacker”.
The information was disclosed by GloboNews and confirmed by UOL.
Delgatti was arrested in the state of São Paulo for failing to comply with precautionary measures.
Arrested in 2019 in Operation Spoofing on suspicion of hacking into authorities’ accounts on Telegram, he had received authorization to respond freely. When preventive detention was revoked in October 2020, precautionary measures were set, such as electronic monitoring and a ban on accessing websites, social networks or messaging apps.
A report published last year showed that, from the precautionary measures, Delgatti got rid of the use of the electronic anklet in September 2021.
Delgatti admitted to the PF that he entered the accounts of Lava Jato prosecutors and confirmed that he forwarded messages to The Intercept Brasil website, which revealed the case later known as Vaza Jato. Other vehicles participated in the dissemination of the information obtained, including Sheet.
The leaked dialogues indicated joint action by the prosecutors with the then judge Sergio Moro in the cases involving Lula (PT) in the operation. The material played a central role in the judgments at the STF (Federal Supreme Court) that declared Moro’s suspicion in the convictions against the PT.
In August of last year, Delgatti traveled to Brasília at the invitation of the PL, the party of former president Jair Bolsonaro. At that meeting, he spoke with the president’s campaign to talk about his opinion on the safety of electronic voting machines.
