The Federal Police arrested this Thursday (20) an alleged leader of the invasion of the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) on January 8, according to information from the UOL. Diego Ventura would be on the run and was detained in Campos de Goytacazes (RJ) during an event called “National Assembly of the Brazilian Right”.
The PF informed the GloboNews who received information that Ventura would be at the event and asked the STF to carry out the arrest – allowed by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the investigation that investigates the acts of January 8. In addition to the warrant, his cell phone was also seized.
Ventura is appointed as one of the leaders of a group present at the camp set up in front of the Army headquarters in Brasília, and was even detained by the Military Police in December of last year when he was heading to the STF carrying items such as slingshots, communicator radios and a knife. He was released on the same day.
He was allegedly identified in a video outside the courthouse kicking over the retaining rails before the invasion began and then inside the damaged building. However, Ventura would have managed to escape and was arrested on Thursday night (20).
The man must be transferred in the coming days to the prison system in Rio de Janeiro.
