Five search and seizure warrants were executed in the city of São Pedro da Aldeia, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, this Tuesday morning (7), as part of the investigations into the acts of January 8.

According to the Federal Police and the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF), the targets of the warrants were carrying unregistered large-caliber firearms, “with the intent of an armed conflict and frightening political opponents.”

Those investigated will respond for the crimes of criminal association, incitement to crime, violent abolition of the Democratic State of Law and for illegally carrying a firearm, in addition to other crimes that may arise during the course of the investigations.

This is the second operation related to the acts of January 8 carried out this Tuesday (7). A little earlier, ten preventive, temporary and search and seizure warrants were executed in the Federal District within the investigations of Operation Lesa Pátria.
