Pedrinho decides to leave TV Globo after four years

The former player Pedrinho is no longer part of Grupo Globo’s staff. The commentator himself announced his departure from the broadcaster after four years. On social media, he thanked him for the opportunity the channel gave him and justified his departure because he was looking for “new projects”.

“A house that gave me the opportunity to show my content, which allowed me to comment on games and programs and realize that after my career as an athlete it is possible to be happy in this profession”, wrote the commentator on his social networks.

The last game Pedrinho worked on was Athletico-PR’s 3-0 victory over Flamengo, in Cariacica, Espírito Santo. He commented on the match alongside former player Diego Ribas and narrator Gustavo Villani, who wished his now former colleague luck. “Living with you is a luxury… You’re a simple, competent person. Fly in the crowd”, exalted the narrator.

Pedrinho has been part of Grupo Globo’s commentary team since August 2019, when he was hired alongside former player Fábio Júnior. His time at the station was marked by elaborate tactical analyses. Most players liked his comments.

Retired from the field since 2013, Pedrinho, aged 46, was a left-footed midfielder of rare skill. He became a Vasco idol and had an important spell at Palmeiras, but suffered from repeated injuries.
