Pedra Branca delivers first licenses issued for environmental management exploration – News of Brazil

The municipality of Pedra Branca do Amapari, 180km from the capital Macapá, delivered the first licenses for environmental management exploration, known as Forest Exploration Authorizations (Autex). The document provides entrepreneurs with legal certainty to conduct their environmental management exploration activities in accordance with current environmental laws and regulations.
The City of Pedra Branca do Amapari intends to expand the license issuance program to facilitate access for more entrepreneurs and rural producers to natural resources in a sustainable way. The delivery of licenses by the Municipal Secretariat for the Environment is the result of joint work between the city hall, Ibama and the State Secretariat for the Environment (Sema).
“This action also aims to encourage the environmental regularization of rural properties and promote environmental awareness in the region. Pedra Branca do Amapari City Hall stands out as an example for other municipalities when working to explore environmental management in a responsible manner and in harmony with the conservation of natural resources”highlighted the mayor Beth Pelaes.
The program for issuing Forest Exploration Authorizations is a major step forward for the municipality, as it allows for a more agile and efficient process for environmental licensing. In total, four forest management authorizations were issued, which will benefit several rural producers and local businesses. “This historic milestone represents a major advance in sustainable development and environmental preservation.
