Between the 24th and 26th of November, the municipality of Pedra Branca do Amapari will be holding the first edition of the Olympics for the Wajãpi people in their ancestral Pajé Maracá Stadium, located 300 kilometers from the capital Macapá. The event promises to be a dive into the rich culture, as well as a fierce competition that will highlight the diverse athletic skills of the original peoples.
The Wajãpi Olympics seeks to bring the tradition of the villages through a competition that should bring together 150 athletes distributed in disciplines such as archery, trunk running, climbing the açaí tree and football, offering a unique and authentic experience to the visiting public at the Pajé Maracá Stadium .
