PCO commemorates Hamas attack that killed Israeli soldiers

The Workers’ Cause Party (PCO) published an article on its website celebrating attacks by Hamas terrorists that killed 24 Israeli soldiers in one day. At least 21 soldiers would have been killed in a single explosion caused by a grenade and the other three in combat with the terrorists. The party, which says it is 1000% aligned with Hamas, called the attacks a “beautiful achievement”.
For the PCO, Hamas’ attacks against Israel are legitimate and are part of a supposed fight against fascism.
On October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists began a massacre against unarmed Israeli civilians, including women, the elderly and children.
In one of its pro-terrorism demonstrations, in front of the Israeli Consulate, in November last year, the PCO sold t-shirts and accessories apologizing for Hamas.
The t-shirts, pins, stickers and posters illustrated with the Hamas flag are paired with other materials that reference militants such as Che Guevara and Karl Marx. Flags of Palestine complete the PCO “store”.
The party has already been denounced for condoning terrorism. The complaint concerns images of a public event in which João Pimenta, son of the president of the PCO, Rui Costa Pimenta, shouts into the microphone asking for “a round of applause for all armed groups, for Hamas, for Islamic Jihad and for all groups fighting for Palestine.”
Called radical even by those on the left, the PCO will receive more than R$3.5 million from the electoral fund for the 2024 municipal elections.
