Former Minister of Health under Jair Bolsonaro (PL), federal deputy Eduardo Pazuello (PL-RJ) said this Monday (7) that the current minister, Nísia Trindade, was his bet, as was the current president. from Fiocruz, Mario Moreira.
The statements were given during a formal session in the Chamber in honor of the 70th anniversary of the Ministry of Health and the National Health Surveillance Day. Criticized for his role in the pandemic, Pazuello said in his speech that the ministry is a “complex machine”.

Over the ten months he was in charge of Saúde, Pazuello was involved in several controversies. In March 2021, he promised a group of intermediaries to buy 30 million doses of the Chinese Coronavac vaccine for almost three times the price negotiated by the Butantan Institute.
As soon as he took over, the general released chloroquine to all Covid-19 patients. In addition, throughout 2020 the ministry ignored at least ten emails from Pfizer to negotiate vaccines with the government. He was also accused of the lack of oxygen crisis in Manaus in January 2021.
