‘Parintins Cine’ gets a new screening at Cineteatro Guarany this Saturday

Manaus (AM) – In a new edition of the Mostra de Cineastas Amazonenses, the Cineclube de Arte will show again, this Saturday (02/09), the exhibition of films produced in Parintins. Entitled “Parintins Cine”, the program includes 23 short films, with 1, 4 and 5 minutes. Admission is free, starting at 6:30 pm at Cineteatro Guarany.

Produced between 2002 and 2004, most of the productions are the result of cinema workshops promoted by Amacine Futuros Cineastas for the “UM Amazonas” and “Curta 4” festivals. Some others were part of the film festival “Focaliza Parintins” in December 2022, promoted by the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA).

According to Z Leão, curator of the exhibition, it is extremely important to bring this representativeness of the Amazon to the screens. “It is important that the population itself knows and gives prestige to the works that are from here”,

highlighted the curator and filmmaker, who works in training actions carried out in Manaus and inland.

The highlight of the show is the one-minute short “O Lamento”, by producer Ray Santos. Through social networks, the film had a national reach and is the most watched short of the show. For Ray, it’s a moment of great gratitude to everyone who contributed to the production. “It really is a milestone in my career in the audiovisual area”,

declared.

The Cineclube de Arte is an initiative of the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. The project aims to promote culture in the state through cinema and audiovisual.
