Paraná Pesquisas publishes the 1st electoral survey for the City Hall of Porto Alegre

Paraná Pesquisas released this Tuesday (28) the first survey for the 2024 municipal elections in Porto Alegre. (PT) and Onyx Lorenzoni (PL).
The research also revealed that the last two former mayors of the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Nelson Marchezan Júnior (PSDB) and José Fortunati (União Brasil), are unable to advance over the first placed. The survey also showed that 63.4% of people from Porto Alegre approve of Melo’s administration in Porto Alegre City Hall.
The calculation by Paraná Pesquisas was carried out between the 22nd and 26th of March and the margin of error is 3.5 percentage points. Check below the full result of the research and the applied methodology:
Scenario 1 – with Onyx Lorenzoni and former mayors José Fortunati and Nelson Marchezan Junior:
- Sebastião Melo (MDB): 31.8%;
- Edegar Pretto (PT): 14.4%;
- Onyx Lorenzoni (PL): 8.3%;
- Juliana Brizola (PDT): 6.8%;
- José Fortunati (União Brasil): 6.2%;
- Nelson Marchezan Junior (PSDB): 6.1%;
- Pedro Ruas (PSOL): 5.6%;
- Commander Nadia (PP): 3.5%;
- Felipe Camozzato (New): 2.4%;
- Coronel Zucco (Republicans): 1.9%;
- Beto Albuquerque (PSB): 1.7%;
- Blank/null/none: 7.9%;
- Does not know/did not answer: 3.5%.
Scenario 2 – without Onyx Lorenzoni and without former mayor José Fortunati:
- Sebastião Melo (MDB): 36.7%;
- Edegar Pretto (PT): 16.5%;
- Nelson Marchezan Junior (PSDB): 8.2%;
- Juliana Brizola (PDT): 7.9%;
- Pedro Ruas (PSOL): 6.3%;
- Commander Nadia (PP): 6.2%;
- Felipe Camozzato (New): 3.1%;
- White/null/none: 10.3%;
- Does not know/did not answer: 4.7%.
Scenario 3 – without former mayors José Fortunati and Nelson Marchezan Junior:
- Sebastião Melo (MDB): 36.2%;
- Edegar Pretto (PT): 16.4%;
- Onyx Lorenzoni (PL): 10%;
- Juliana Brizola (PDT): 8.8%;
- Pedro Ruas (PSOL): 6.2%;
- Any Ortiz (Citizenship): 4%;
- Felipe Camozzato (New): 3%;
- Blank/null/none: 11.3%;
- Does not know/did not answer: 4.1%.
Methodology
Paraná Pesquisas interviewed 806 voters in the city of Porto Alegre in person, between March 22 and 26, 2023. The margin of error is 3.5 percentage points, and the confidence interval is 95%. The survey is not registered with the TRE-RS (Regional Electoral Court of Rio Grande do Sul). Election law requires registration only for polls published in the election year.
