The partners of 123 Milhas filed a request with the Federal Supreme Court (STF) against the breach of secrecy approved, on Wednesday (8/23), by the Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPI), of the Chamber of Deputies, which investigates fraud schemes financial pyramid with cryptoassets.
The brothers Ramiro Julio Soares Madureira and Augusto Julio Soares Madureira, in addition to Cristiane Madureira do Nascimento, were also summoned to testify before parliamentarians about the company’s business model and the cancellation of packages purchased by customers.
according to newspaper Economic value, the company’s lawyers questioned the CPI’s decision. “Despite the commendable interest of the Chamber of Deputies in seeking explanations and relevant information for the solution of collective losses and inconveniences, caused to consumers across the country, due to the impossibility of 123 Milhas delivering part of the tourism packages sold by it in the recent months, the impertinence of this topic within the scope of the CPI stands out”.
For the defense of the company’s partners, “the suspicion that 123 Milhas’ business involves a financial pyramid is inappropriate.” According to them, the “company does not provide financial services and not even the packages sold were financial investments”. They did not offer prizes or remuneration to customers, but tourism services.
The request refers to the announcement of the suspension of tickets made by the company last Friday (18), where the company alleged adverse market conditions forcing it to interrupt the promotional line during the rest of the year. 123 Milhas announced that it intends to fully refund the amounts paid by customers with monetary correction, but through vouchers.
