Opposition promises to obstruct discussions of priority government projects in the Chamber

The sessions of the Chamber of Deputies throughout this week, reserved for discussing priority projects of the government in the economic area, must have their agendas obstructed by the opposition. The president of the house, Deputy Arthur Lira (PP-AL), suspended the functioning of all commissions to deal specifically with discussions in plenary.
The order was given during the meeting of leaders brought forward for Sunday night (2) and which has already started to be applied this Monday (3), even affecting the CPMI sessions of the acts of January 8, which had the meetings transferred to The next week. Deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) published on social media that he intends to delay discussions in the Chamber.
“Total obstruction. That’s what we’re going to do today,” she said.
Arthur Lira convened face-to-face deliberative sessions for all working days this week to discuss and vote on projects such as tax reform, the target of questions from governors and productive sectors of the economy; fiscal framework, which had changes in the text in the Senate and now needs to return to the Chamber; and the return of the so-called “quality vote” to the CARF (Administration Council for Tax Resources), which gives the government a win in tax dispute ties.
The expectation is that these and other projects that block the agenda of the Chamber will be voted and analyzed until the 16th, before the beginning of the parliamentary recess between the 13th and 31st of July.
