Opening of the Games of the Federal Institute of Amapá featured games and artistic presentations – News of Brazil

The Games of the Federal Institute of Amapá (Jifap 2023) started this Monday (26), with sports and artistic presentations that thrilled the fans present at the multi-sports gymnasium on Campus Macapá. Around 300 students from on-site technical and higher education courses are enrolled in the competition, which serves as a selection for the regional stage of the Federal Institutes Games (JIF) and, from this, for the national stage of JIF 2023.
Volleyball teams were the first to enter the court early in the morning. The first round began with the victory of the Campus Porto Grande team over Macapá and Laranjal do Jari over Santana in the men’s category. Afterwards, the Macapá team beat Santana and the Laranjal do Jari team beat Porto Grande in the female category.
The opening ceremony of JIFAP 2023 began at the end of the second round of volleyball matches in the male and female categories, around 7 pm. A video with moments from games from previous years was shown on a large screen.
“It is a moment of fraternization and exchange between students from the different ifap units and also a moment when our students demonstrate all their skills in nine sports, seeking a place in the national stage of the games of the federal institutes”declared Professor Dennys Conceição, master of ceremonies, before calling the components of the opening ceremony – the Dean of Teaching, Victor Hugo Sales, representing the Dean Marialva Almeida, the Director General of Campus Macapá, Márcio Prado, Professor Rodrigo Denuir, representing the JIFAP 2023 organizing committee, and student Artur Gomes da Silva, from the Technology in Commercial Management course at the Oiapoque Advanced Campus, representing all Ifap students.
The marching band from Campus Macapá, the representatives of the delegations that will compete in JIFAP 2023 – Campi Laranjal do Jari, Macapá, Oiapoque, Porto Grande/Pedra Branca and Santana – and students Haryane Leão and Danielle Paula Brito, carrying the Olympic torch, in allusion to the sporting spirit and overcoming limits. “They are the first ifap student athletes to win a medal in the national dispute involving competitors from all federal institutes in the country. They won a bronze medal in the women’s beach volleyball modality at the 2022 JIFs”highlighted the master of ceremonies.
The Campus Macapá marching band played the National, Amapá and Ifap anthems. The athlete’s oath was conducted by student Danielle Paula Brito and accompanied by students in the stands.
After the closing of the solemn act, the marching band played popular songs, with the right to evolution and choreography. There was also a dance performance by student Maria Eduarda Silva Negrão, from the Oiapoque Advanced Campus, and the Recriarte group, formed by students from the Campus Laranjal do Jari.
The jifap 2023 will take place until Friday (30) in 11 sports – the individual Athletics, Judo, Swimming, Table Tennis and Chess and the collective Basketball, Futsal, Football, Handball, Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.
