MINIMUM TIME

According to the rules of the game, the referee must inform the minimum time that he will add to the period. There is no way to report 3 and a half minutes, so when viewing a three minute board, the audience must know up to 3 minutes and 59 seconds can be added to the game.

ADDITION TO ADDITION (EXAMPLES)

Situation 1: The referee adds 3 minutes. During this time, one of the goalkeepers is injured and receives treatment. Situation 3: At 20 minutes the match is suspended due to heavy rain. The game is stopped for 15 minutes. The fourth official must contact the referee and synchronize his stopwatch. After restarting the game, at the end of 25 minutes (adding to the 20 already played, a total of 45 minutes) the fourth referee must inform the added time motivated by other circumstances. In this case, it is essential to inform the reserved players when the game restarts how much time is left to play! If possible, it is healthy to inform the press agencies that are working on the match.

Situation 4: In the specific case of the athlete’s hydration stop, in view of the short stoppage time, all lost time must be added at the end of the stage with the plate being lifted exactly at the end of the period (original 45 minutes, without stop stopwatch). Here applies the case of Sunday or when there are small stoppages for various reasons. In the case of the São Paulo final, it would be more prudent to erect a 6-minute sign at the end of the game (2 in additions due to the stoppage of the flags and another 4 due to stretcher entries, substitutions and other factors).

WHAT DESERVES ADD?

FIFA recommends that all time lost must be added to each period of the game. But, he informs that some stops are “normal” in the match: Goal kicks, laterals, goal celebrations, corner kicks, etc.

In the case of these items mentioned above, only the excess of time loss must be added and, when there is excess, the offenders must be punished with a yellow card.

Each half must be lengthened to necessarily recover the EXACT time lost with: substitutions (not 30 seconds!
